TUBA THE CAT arrived in Oregon last Saturday night with Jim and Gina from New Mexico. Gina loves Tuba and Tuba loves Gina. Those two have lived through many a good time as well as many, maybe more,a bad time together. Tuba is four years old and has spent all of his days in the Southwest where he was an independent outside kitty. He was a big puff ball full of sticks and leaves and who knows what! Gina had to get him trimmed and all taken care of when he had to stay in "kitty prison" for a few weeks before she moved back home. They trimmed off two pounds of fur-unreal! He now sports a lion cut until his fur grows back.
The poor guy wanted outside, so I put his leash on and tried to take him out for some fresh air. I think the wet green grass was too much for him! Then he smelled another cat or animal and started to growl and hiss, so I managed to get him back to the house to safe territory. He hasn't been outside since.
I tried to get a few pictures of him falling asleep on Jim's lap, but he wasn't cooperating. He really is a sweetheart and traveled so well. He's in Seattle with Gina now visiting a friend who is going to keep him for a few weeks.
Here's a great quote from Sigmund Freud~
"Time spent with cats is never wasted."
