Tea Time Tuesday #175

Happy Tea Time Tuesday...oh, it's been so long since I have posted. With Easter so very early this spring, I decided not to put out my lovely St Patrick's Day things. It always makes me a bit sad when I don't get to enjoy my teapots and teacups.

I was really sick last weekend but was feeling better on Sunday afternoon, so Jim took me to an estate sale. I found this beautiful and very different teacup. It is lovely....Forget-Me-Nots and shamrocks! I am such a Tasha Tudor fan and she loved Forget-Me-Nots. I just had to take the teacup home. What a treasure.

I also just love to see a little design on the inside of the cup.

Don't you love the little pink bows too? So dainty and just that bit of color is perfect.

The cup and saucer are bone china, made in England. It is made by the Royal Stewart company.

I don't get to eat goodies too often anymore, but I did have a mint cookie with my tea. It's was such a wet and dreary Oregon day...I just had to enjoy one!

My friend Jan sent me this sweet card. I'm enjoying a cup of Irish Breakfast tea with my treats.

I'm looking forward to a gathering of my high school buddies this Saturday on St Patrick's Day.

Happy St Patrick's Day! I love St Patty's Day. My mom enjoyed decorating and celebrating all the holidays, so I guess I got it from her. My dad worked for Woolworth's so we always had access to party decorations and fun goodies.

My Italian hubby loves corned beef and cabbage. Since I am on a low sodium diet, I can no longer enjoy the standard St Pat's dinner. But Jimmy loves it and I make it for him. Here it is cooking in the crock pot. It smells so yummy.

I had fun decorating the table. The cute plates, placemats and doilies all came from the $ store. It's fun to mix and match with my St Pat's china.

You HAVE to have a few chocolate gold coins for the day!

This little guy doesn't seem to know what's going on. He's been napping for years.

Just a few chocolate mint cookies for dessert.

Only the BEST butter for today!

It's fun to use a few different cup and saucers at dinner.

Just look at that smile!   Give the guys some yummy food and he's a happy camper!.

Even though I could have the corned beef plate, I did have a yummy ftesh shrimp salad...no complaints.

Dolly Thursday

Miss Daphne does NOT want to be the Irish Washer Woman! All the other dollies are in hiding too! I found this little primitive stand in Washington when we had our Tasha NW Gathering. It came with a little red wooden tub. I added the other goodies and Jimmy gave me the little copper boiler. I found the wicker basket at the antique show we just did. It is the perfect size.

Dolly lace, Turkey Red napkins and some embroidery work are stashed in the little
shelves.

The copper boiler, a gift from Jimmy, is filled with more wash to be done!

Daphne is looking at all the clean folded wash in the wicker basket...all neat and tidy.

Looks like there's a few irons waiting for the task too!

Looks like the Leprechauns set a little tea table to tempt some dolly to get the wash done! I do love sharing Dolly Thursday with my Tasha Tudor group. It's fun to roll it over to my blog for others to enjoy the fun too. 

Saturday

I saw this photo on one of my FB sites an it just looks so spring like! I had to share it. We had such a pretty day yesterday...60 degrees and some sunshine. I had the windows open for some fresh air and it was so nice.

I haven't been blogging much. I love it blogging, but it just seems like I don't have the time to do much lately. Ever since my health issues last August, I haven't been able to get back to normal in lots of area. I am feeling so much better now, so hopefully, this spring will bring more restoration in many areas.

I posted some photos of my little Irish doll collection on my Tasha group on Thursday so wanted to share them here. I do have a bit of Irish in me and just LOVE St Patrick's Day. Not sure how I will handle the dinner this year as I can't have corned beef or green cabbage. YIKES!

This first doll is an Avon doll from the 1990's. Her name is Colleen and she really is quite nice for a mass produced doll.

This little wee miss is a clothes pin doll that I found on Etsy. I think she is quite charming.

I'v had this little guy for awhile. He is all dressed in wool and tweed and he just looks Irish to me. Not sure where he is really from, but he seems quite happy living with the St Patty's things.

This little elf looks like he is a member of the Irish, so he likes to come out at this time of the year.

Yep, I am a nut about all things Irish. It's just fun. My youngest daughter has traveled to Ireland. Oh, I wish I could go someday.

Happy Saturday and don't forget to spring ahead tonight with you clocks...daylight savings time begins. I do wish they would just pick one time and stick to it. I don't see the purpose of this anymore. 

Tea Time Tuesday...#153 Time for St Patrick's Fun!

Oh it's March and time for some St Patrick's fun! I think the Irish invaded my home this weekend. With Easter being late this year, I delighted in decoration with my St Pat's goodies. Often, I have to get out the Easter things right after Valentine's to enjoy the Easter items....but not this year!

When I was decorating on Saturday, I discovered that I didn't own a Belleek tea cup. I have a couple teapots and some sweet small pieces of Belleek, but no tea cup! I checked on line, but the freight was pretty high. That's understandable, as Belleek is so fragile. We were exhibiting at the spring Expo antique and collectible show, so I decided to look around for one at the show. Yes! I did find one at a booth run by a darling little couple. The price was very fair and NO freight. I was so excited.

This little vase was a gift from my friend Ann who brought it back to me when she went to Ireland. It's just charming.

My teapot was lonely without a tea cup!

I tried this tea by Twinings.....buttermint. It is sooo yummy. It's a very light and smooth mint tea. I really like it...try it!

We were busy last week getting ready for the spring show. It's a lot of work, but we did well again and that makes it all so much fun! Jimmy had extra help from our nephews Patrick and Markie, along with Markie's girlfriend Jessica. It's alway fun to have some young blood with you!

We had a great show and had some fun along the way. Next show will be in October, but Jim is thinking about doing the city wide garage sale in May!!!
