May Day Exchange

It's May....and well into the lovely month! I have been a bit distracted with my dad, but wanted to post some fun things going on in my ife. My Tasha Tudor group....Take Peace....had a May Day exchange. Oh what fun. I just love exchanges. The gifts are just delightful, but it's nice to personally connect with people, esp on large groups.

I was paired up with Salina. Isn't that such a pretty name? I get excited when I open up the box and find sweet goodies inside. It's so neat to see what a person chooses for you.

She put together a very special box for me and I am so thankful for it all. Joy Joy Joy!

She made a darling May Day Basket from a little parasol. Isn't that clever!

Here's the back so you can see the handle which makes it easy to hang.

Salina discovered that I am a quilter. She even took the book and had a plastic binder put on the side for easy use. I have never had a quilting journal!

Yummy new tea and sweet candies!

We like to add little dolly or teddy bear treats in our boxes too, so Miss Annabelle got some goodies too.

A new wind chime for my garden too. Thanks you soooo much Salina!

Dolly Thursday

Dolly Thursday! Today, I was talking about Tasha Tudor's kitchens for her dolls. She had the most fantastic minis for her dolls, but I epecially love her kitchen goodies. This is my little Annabelle in her little kitchen. She is 10 1/2" tall and her minis are pretty much 1:12 scale.

Back to Annabelle's kitchen. I love the little set of pottery pieces I found for her. They are perfect. I love her crocks too.

The pie safe was a gift from LaVonne last fall. She found it at Hobby Lobby.

This wonderful little cast iron stove was also a gift from LaVonne. Don't I have the best dolly friends? It is a great stove and just the right size for Annabelle and friends.

A few more goodies in her kitchen.....

I do love her quilt quilt rack. I made the quilt awhile back. It's a cheater quilt but looks so cool. Such a great tiny print. I also love her basket full of veggies...a nice harvest.

My next dollhouse adventure is for larger dolls. The scale will be 1:6. It isn't as easy to find things that size, so the hunt is on! I will probably collect things for a bit and have a large dollhouse/bookcase/china holder  built along a wall in my tea room. I have to wait for awhile but it's all fun. 

Pumpkin Moonshine Day! TEA TIME TUESDAY #172

It's almost 10 PM and it's been a long day. Happy Pumpkin Moonshine Day....Tasha Tudor's name for Halloween. I love this gentle images from one of her books. It was also Tea Time with Tasha today, so this is what I featured on our Take Peace group.

I love candy corn and it's almost time for it to disappear again.It was my little treat for the day.

I really like this tea! I am a fan of Rooibos, but had never tried Rooibos pumpkin spice before...yummy!

The tea cozy is quite cute and perfect for my candy corn theme.

I made navy bean soup and cornbread earlier today to take over to Angie's home tonight.  She fixed a  veggie soup for me and had hot apple cider. It was all really good and Otto was so much fun. He is growing up too quickly for Grandma Linda.

 After dinner, it was time for mommy to get Otto dressed in his dragon costume.

The weather was dry and brisk but no rain and not too cold. Amazing! He was so excited about every thing he got. He's showing me his loot.

Here he is waiting for the people to open the door. He really got into it all this year. After all, he is four now!!!

Dolly Thursday

Miss Daphne does NOT want to be the Irish Washer Woman! All the other dollies are in hiding too! I found this little primitive stand in Washington when we had our Tasha NW Gathering. It came with a little red wooden tub. I added the other goodies and Jimmy gave me the little copper boiler. I found the wicker basket at the antique show we just did. It is the perfect size.

Dolly lace, Turkey Red napkins and some embroidery work are stashed in the little
shelves.

The copper boiler, a gift from Jimmy, is filled with more wash to be done!

Daphne is looking at all the clean folded wash in the wicker basket...all neat and tidy.

Looks like there's a few irons waiting for the task too!

Looks like the Leprechauns set a little tea table to tempt some dolly to get the wash done! I do love sharing Dolly Thursday with my Tasha Tudor group. It's fun to roll it over to my blog for others to enjoy the fun too. 

What a week!

WOW...this past week was sure not what I planned last Sunday! We needed to watch our little Otto 3 days, so on Tuesday, I brought him over to our home for a change up. It was really hot, 85+ for a few days. It's too early for that kind of heat! At least it is for this grandma! He ran around the backyard chasing bubbles and balls and we all had a great time. He's getting so big...my little monkey man. He is a funny one who loves to make Gma laugh. I can't believe he is almost 3 years old already.

Then on Wednesday, my dad had a dental appointment. Jim took me to the play gym with Otto and then took dad to the dentist. We had no idea he had to have 2 teeth removed and 3 roots cut out. Poor guy. He needed a lot of care and sure couldn't be left alone, so Jim and I took turns for the next 3 days going over to be with him. He is doing really good now and will have to heal for a couple weeks before he has to have more work done.

I missed posting my  Tasha Dolly Thursday post with my Thursday finds too! Just too busy. This is the doll I posted on my Tasha group. She is Mary Lennox from the Secret Garden book. Tasha Tudor illustrated the book. It's one that is so available, I think all Tasha fans own a copy.

She was put out by a company called Kids-At-Heart. I have read in the past that there were problems with the production of the dolls and they didn't make them very long. Mine is fine. I had an opportunity to buy her at a very good price and my Tasha friend told me to buy it!

I recently found this book for my Tasha library at the Cellar Door books in New Hampshire. We got to visit John and Jill who own the shoppe last summer. I has never seen the book and it is just wonderful. A great and fun addition filled with all kinds of fun crafts and recipes...lots of tea time recipes.

 Friday was also the full moon! I didn't take this photo and couldn't find the person who did take it. This month is the full pink moon. I love this photo of the moon and our beautiful Mt Hood. We often call the mountain, Old Dad Hood! I get to see this mountain everyday.

I do hope this next week will be a bit more quite...but who knows! 

Tea Time Tuesday #110 Carlton Ware

I had a wonderful time away at my quilting retreat. I have been busy since I returned home and have had a bit of a hard time getting back to my blogging. That does seem to happen to me. I still had all the Easter things to take down when I got back. so spent Saturday doing that chore. I decided to put out my Carlton Ware in my hutch for a change up. I love my foxglove pattern. Most of my collection is the green foxglove pattern. I started my collection about 25 years ago. Most of it was made in the late 1930's and early 1940's.

It's very springy and works well with my Tasha Secret Garden books. I will share more about the books and a doll I have when I do my post on dolly Thursday.

I love the pattern. I have seen it in yellow and white, but I like the green. I did see on pink piece online once and it was really pretty. The raised pieces were painted by hand. Foxglove are just so very English.

This teapot below is quite different and a little different green in color but I do like it. It looks like primrose to me and don't you just love the handle!

This teapot is called Primula. I guess that's the name of the sweet little flower on the teapot.

I was very happy to find the toast rack years ago. The piece on the right, is called a jug. I just found this piece for $2 and couldn't pass it up. I have one but......

An assortment of very small dishes are perfect for butter, jams or little candy treats on the tea table.

I'm not sure who made this lovely little set of berry bowls. I had to have them. They are great for berries of a small helping of a dessert.
