Seed Starter Pot Baskets

I had so much fun making these little Easter baskets! It was such a fun project and I was very pleased with the outcome. I know these have been around for a bit, but I have never made them before.

I started out with these pressed seed starter pots, or little peat pots. I found them at the Dollar store....how perfect! I got 12 in a package for $1.00. Do note that you may find one or two that are not good enough to use for your baskets, so you might want to buy 2 packages.

I painted the inside of each pot with acrylic paints that I had. The small foam brushes work quite well. I really liked the green color for a garden look. It's called celery.

After the paint dried, I painted the outside of the pots. The paint goes on easily and it dries quickly.

I punched a hole on each side about 1/2" down with a paper punch. Next, I added a handle. I used a lot of different things for the handles. I did use ribbon on some, but found that sprigs of spring flowers worked well when I pulled them apart and twisted them together. You could  use the fat pipe cleaners too.

After I glued lace or eyelet around the top, I let it all dry again. They I added little bows or ribbons on the sides near the punch holes. It covered the holes and added a bit of interest to the baskets.

I then filled the little gems with the fine, sparkle Easter grass. I can buy it at my local craft store all year. I thought it worked well for these.

Add whatever you wish and you have a sweet little basket. I think these would make great little May Day baskets or party favors. They would be really sweet at a tea too.

Tea Time Thursday #105 ATAA Tea Exchange

My tea group...ATAA or Afternoon Tea Across America...decided to to have a tea cup exchange for Easter instead of our usual card exchange. We were to send a tea cup, card and tea only. I was paired up with a lovely lady in Vancouver WA. Jennifer gifted me this this spring time cup and saucer, a darling card and delightful tea.

I love the colors of the tea cup....so perfect for this time of the year.

It's English made bone china made by Royal Patrician.

I posted these cute Easter Bunny clothespin dolls for Dolly Thursday on my Tasha Tudor site today. I just love this little couple. They are so nicely made and are so sweet.

Mrs Bunny has worked hard painting her egg for Easter!

Mr Bunny has been busy too! He's got a whole little walnut wagon filled with eggs!

Happy Tea Time Thursday. Easter will soon be here...it's so early this year.

Weekly Gratitude-Another Tasha Tudor Friend's Gift

Anyone who meets me will quickly discover that I am a Tasha Tudor fan. Tasha was a children's illustrator who had a long career and lived quite a simple and special life.

This year my Tasha exchange name was my good friend Suzanne who lives back in MA! Our theme was Chickahominy who actually was Tasha's favorite rooster.
She sent me the most interesting framed rooster print. It's done on an old dictionary page. She included a set of 4
magnets too.

She also sent me a pink luster teacup with chocolates ! I am still in shock and so thankful for a friend who would gift me with such a special treat. I called her to thank her and oh it was so nice to hear her voice! Thank you again for my Tasha teacup! Thank you for your friendship!

And Miss Annabelle also got a package from Miss Annabelle of MA .

We started this Easter exchange years ago on our Take Peace group with an ornament exchange and most of us had an Easter tree. It was so fun but too much work to send so many. Now we just do a one on one exchange and this year my dear friend LaVonne set it up.

I found a new tree and a box of Easter ornaments at an Estate sale last week for $5. I set it up in my tea room this year and it's lovely. I like to look at it and think of all my Tasha friends with warm thought and a grateful heart for friendship.

Here's some pictures- I'm still having use my phone to post pictures and I can't edit them as well, so please excuse the not so perfect photos!

Wishing my Christian friends a very thoughtful Holy Week.

I'm joining Mary at Redo 101 who is continuing our weekly gratitude posts after Linda at A La Carte has ended Gratitude Sunday. Thank you Linda for beginning this nice habit!
