Thursday Treasures

Last weekend was a fun treasure hunting time, both for Jim and for me. We went to two different sales and both had treasures~a few personal ones and finds for future shows and Etsy. I don't know why I like to do this, but I am thankful that Jim does too. It's something we have done from the time we were first dating....about 45 years ago! Yikes! Where do the years go?

This is a darling little chenille baby blanket. I couldn't really photograph the whole blanket. I would say it's a crib blanket and it is in great condition.

I have a thing for handmade collars. I think they were often used for pretty nighties and then carefully removed to be used for another clothing item. This one is trimmed with soft pink satin ribbon and the work is exquisite!

This little Holly Hobbie is so cute and so is the little dolly outfit sewn with Holly Hobbie fabric. I can sell just about anything that is Holly Hobbie!

I adore quilt blocks! I know I should part with these, but.... there's a set of 9 muslin blocks with Sunbonnet Sue waiting to be stitched! The fabrics are vintage and just darling. The little cloth under the blocks is a table covering. It looks like a card table cover and may be made from seed sack fabric.

I am always on the lookout for miniatures. I am keeping the little salt boxes but probably will sell the other pieces.

More vintage blocks and a potholder. The small copper molds will go into Jim's shop.

I will keep the two red fringed napkins....very Tashaish. The 29 vintage quilt blocks will be offered for sale.

Oh and such sweet plastic doll furniture! I always get excited to come across furniture! This is a bit larger but really neat.

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I found the sweet little dolls that had been made in Oregon?
Jim went back to the sale the next day to see if there were any left at the 1/2 price sale. He told me they had all been sold. Well, the sneaky guy put four more in my Easter basket! I was delighted!

Little Red Riding Hood....

These two were tagged Heidi but they are a bit different, even their hairdos!

Mother Goose......love her!

Here they are all snugged down in my wire basket. I just like to look at them. I did send Farmer Girl to my friend LaVonne.

My dad's 87 the birthday is this weekend and I am getting ready for a quilt retreat. I leave on Sunday morning, so I don't think I will be doing any hunting this weekend. No complaints! I can't wait to have 5 days to chat and quilt and have some fun!

It's also Dolly Thursday on my Tasha group. Today, I shared my vintage baby doll that I rescued from a 1/2 price Estate sale a few years ago. She is from the 1930's and is so cute. I found her this little hat, booties, baby dress and bib. She is wishing to go for a stroll.

She also enjoys reading some linen baby books...love them.

Oh, what precious treasures! I used to LOVE Holly Hobbie when I was a little girl! Oh, that brought back a lot of memories to see that. And the sunbonnet quilt did, too. Your husband is so sweet to have surprised you with those goodies! What a blessing! Happy Birthday to your Dad, and enjoy your time away. Sending you love and hugs. :)

Greetings from southern California. I loved seeing all your antique treasures you have found. It really took me down memory lane; especially seeing the doll furniture. My Mom started a sun bonnet quilt over 50 years ago. I inherited all the pieces and since I don't quilt, I found a person who finished it for me. It's one of my most cherished possessions. I hope you're having a wonderful day,Pat :)
