Timberline Lodge |
This is a special year for Timberline and we thought it would be great to celebrate our anniversary on
Timberline's anniversary. The lodge is beautiful and holds many memories for us too.
Of course, I do think the Lodge is most beautiful when it's wearing it's winter white coat!
We had dinner in the Cascade Dining Room. If I had to move away from Oregon and I only had one day to visit, I would choose to eat at Timberline. Local, gourmet food cooked to perfection!
We had a feast of halibut, bacon wrapped squab, feta stuff artichoke, and fresh broccoli.
The restaurant treated us to a lovely dessert...a cheese cake with an assortment of fresh berries.
We walked around after dinner and enjoyed the craftsmanship of the lodge. There's so much to be enjoyed and appreciated. The WPA program was an amazing program.
This was the mountain on a summer evening as we drove home after a fantastic time at Timberline Lodge.
On to Miss Spenser's Teacup Thursday. I found this cup and saucer last fall on an outing to Aurora. I knew we would be going to Timberline for the big 75th Anniversary, so I bought it and have been saving it.
The teacup was made by Royal Stafford especially for Zell Brothers of Portland, OR. Zell Brothers was a jewelry store here years ago. I'm don't think they are in business any longer.
Happy 75th Anniversary Timberline....hope you make it to your 100th! Jim and I are going for our 50th!

Love the cup. Sounds like a wonderful time. Happy 39 years.
Happy anniversary! You must have had a great time. I like your attitude...Been there, done that, got a teacup! Sounds like me! LOL! I never got to Timberline when we lived in Ashland, OR. Just never made it, and have regretted it. Wonderful anniversary. So special!

Happy HAPPY Happy Anniversary to you!!! So glad you got to celebrate at Timberline Lodge. Our entire family celebrated our parents 50th Anniversary there a few years ago. I totally agree... the food, the view, the craftsmanship... it is such an amazing place!! Sitting in front of the huge fireplace, looking up at the peak and listening to Dad tell his tales of climbing that mountain created a memory I will never forget. I wrote a couple of posts about Mt Hood on my blog. http://patchofzinnias.blogspot.com/2010/04/m-is-for-mazamas.html
