Tea Time Thursday #4

Happy Tea Time Thursday! I have been saving this little trio by Paragon for the Valentine season. It's so sweet and it's the only trio I own. I never used to pay attention to such sets, but now I find them charming!

I took these photos in the evening in my tea room. I love little lights at night. These are little pink clear hearts and they just add a nice touch when it's dark. My friend Karlene calls them "mood lighting". When I went to visit her she would turn on little lights when it got dark. I love the soft glow of little lights of any kind.

You can see the sweet little roses in this photo. The set is trimmed in silver too which is a nice break from the gold of most of my teacups.

The colors of the tea tin just went nicely with the tea cup set. I really enjoy Harney and Son's teas. This is the Diamond Jubilee blend. It's quite nice.

This little prim heart was made by one of my Tasha Tudor friends a few years ago for a Valentine exchange. I like it with my rose bud potpourri.

A few weeks before Christmas I was at a sale and saw this sweet little box. I wondered what was inside...boy, was I surprised. it's a little candle! I thought maybe there was a small doll living inside.
I can't believe these things survive. I have never seen one like this. As another friend would say....ADORABLE!

She is a cutie! I will take care of her now and give her a good home. I think she likes living in the tea room with all the dolls.

February 6th

Did my bible study lesson early this morning and ran across a nice reminder scripture~

"The mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart" Matthew 12:34

Keep you heart good and hopefully sweet words and kindness will flow out. I know I have been a little negative this week. I don't know if it's the weather or just me. Lord, I need a better attitude! I am going to work on this today. Valentines is the perfect time for an attitude adjustment....

Have a good Wednesday.

February 5th

The count down to Valentine's Day continues! Are you getting ready for the big day? I am.

Spent most of the day yesterday with my dad and had a nice day. I got his snowmen down and put up his Valentine decorations. He still likes to have his little apartment ready for each new holiday. My sister used to set up for him, but she has been busy and I seem to have inherited the job.

When I came home, I made my Valentine candies that will be going with my handmade Valentine cards. Still a secret, so can't show you pictures yet. I am pleased at how they turned out.

On to the cards today! I have my paper hearts, glue, ribbon, pretty papers and all my other embellishments ready . One more cup of coffee and off to work I go....what a job...crafting my brains out as my friend Nancy always says!

Gratitude Sunday #5

This Sunday I'm joining Linda again at A LA CARTE for another GRATITUDE SUNDAY.
I went to a doll show in Portland on Saturday, put on by Dolls4ALL. They have them twice a  year and I always look so forward to attending. I was thinking that I am thankful for the little girl in me that still loves dolls. Isn't it fun to enjoy things that brought you great JOY when you were little? I have always loved my dolls and still have many from my childhood. After I was introduced to Tasha Tudor's dolls though my friend Kristen and some of us in our Take Peace group made the doll Annabelle from Tasha's book A IS FOR ANNABELLE, I started going to the doll shows. I was so nervous the first time I went, but dolly people are fun and really sharing.

Enjoy some photos from the show~

I love French Fashion dolls and always drool over them and their clothes. This is a great book I found on making outfits and the dolly's accessories. I can spend hours pouring over these books!

I purchased some goodies for Annabelle's friends so I can't post pictures here yet. I did buy a special little lady for my self. She's a wax dollhouse doll, about 4 inches tall and she was made by the Seattle doll maker Ada Odenrider. Her dress is so pretty and very detailed. I love her hair style too.

I have read about wax dolls but I've never seen one other than in a book. I have to be selective anymore when purchasing a new doll. Her she is on tucked into my tea items. I have to find a good name for her.

Happy Sunday and spend a bit of time thinking about what you are thankful for this week.

I'll be announcing the winner of my GIVE AWAY on Monday!

Happy February!

Happy February!

A new month has graced our lives and homes! I love February. It's a month filled with birthdays in our family and now that Angie and Chris are together, we have two more! Chris' daughter Ava will be 6 in a few weeks and Chris celebrates his at the end of the month. Of course we can't forget my Jimmy on February 10th. My BIL Steve will add another year on February 12th. I have several friends who will be singing" Happy Birthday" this month too.

When we owned our pharmacies and card shoppes, we never got to enjoy Valentine's Day for ourselves. It was a very busy day, an intense day at work selling flowers, cards, balloons, truffles and all kinds of sweet chocolates. We were always sooo tired when we finished up the day that we never did much to celebrate other than be thankful for a good day at the shoppe! Maybe that's why I look so forward to Valentine's Day now.

So here's to the grand month of February with all it's pink and red, friends and family, hearts and cupids, but most of all ~ here's to LOVE!
