Today was my Jimmy's birthday. I thought it would be fun to feature some ideas I found on Pinterest using CONVERSATION HEARTS. who doen's like conversation hearts?

Cadbury Egg Addiction!

So one of the things I just LOVE from the assortment of Easter Candy we are tempted with each year, is the Cadbury Mini Eggs. Oh my, a bag of those treats can just disappear at my house! Shame on the bunny for offering these goodies!

I do love dark chocolate, but I have to tell you, I don't really think the dark chocolate Mini Eggs have the same appeal as the milk chocolate....IMHO! Of course I did manage to eat the bag of dark ones too.

Years ago, my addition started with Cadbury Creme Egg. I still enjoy those, but they are almost a meal in themselves. I think I'm the only one who likes them in my family, but my girls always make sure I get one in my Easter basket. Now they have the smaller packs, so you don't overdose at once. Yes, I know they are bad for me, but they only appear once a year.

Isn't this a riot! I have never seen this advertising vehicle, but I would love to get a look at it! It reminds me of the Oscar Meyer wiener mobile when I was a kid. I did get to see that when I was about 6 years old.

Do you have a favorite candy treat that comes out only at Easter time? Do tell, or should I say, do confess! Just some silliness for on this Friday.

Valentine's Review ~ Things I Made

So, I shared earlier that I was making Valentine cards. I love to make my own. Usually, our Tasha Tudor group has an exchange, but this year we just didn't set one up. Several of us just did it anyway, as it has been our custom for many years. I just love cards and love to send them anyway. I love to start with a pile of pretty papers, doilies, ribbons, embellishments...just fun stuff. I usually have an idea in my head and it just changes a bit and becomes my annual Valentine. It's just fun for me.

A few years ago, my friend Nancy gave me a set of scissors for cutting paper. Boy, do they come in handy...very helpful. I am a messy worker!

I have become fascinated with silhouettes lately and just had a cameo silhouette thing roaming around in my head. This is what just developed.

I wanted to send a little candy treat to go with my theme. I couldn't find anything ready made, so had to make my own. Years ago when my girls were little, my friend Molly and I got into making candies with candy melts. I kept all my molds and found the cameo ones~PERFECT!

I melted the white candy melts and carefully painted the inside of the cameo mold. After it hardens in the fridge, you fill in the mold with the pink candy.

The finished product....pretty little candy cameo and other Valentine candies. Success!

February 5th

The count down to Valentine's Day continues! Are you getting ready for the big day? I am.

Spent most of the day yesterday with my dad and had a nice day. I got his snowmen down and put up his Valentine decorations. He still likes to have his little apartment ready for each new holiday. My sister used to set up for him, but she has been busy and I seem to have inherited the job.

When I came home, I made my Valentine candies that will be going with my handmade Valentine cards. Still a secret, so can't show you pictures yet. I am pleased at how they turned out.

On to the cards today! I have my paper hearts, glue, ribbon, pretty papers and all my other embellishments ready . One more cup of coffee and off to work I go....what a job...crafting my brains out as my friend Nancy always says!
