Tea Time Thursday #80

Happy Tea Time Thursday from Oregon. The weather is so perfect here for Oregonians...cool start, a few clouds and then glorious sunshine and temperatures in the high 70's!

Today I am featuring a teacup that I just had to keep! It is a birthday teacup and it is also decorated with  my beloved Forget-Me-Nots! I was thinking of giving this to my friend, but decided to keep it so I can share it with many friends for a birthday tea.

It's quite pretty and named Forget Me Not. It is bone china and made in England by Duchess.

I'm not sure if this is the front or the back but each side is lovely.

Last Saturday I went to tea at Myrtle's Tea House again for Ann's birthday. It is about 45 minutes away but it is my favorite tea shoppe. So many have disappeared and that makes me sad. I do understand how difficult it is to keep a tea shoppe up and runnning....a lot of work. The owner Elizabeth, does such a great job and she keeps expanding her shoppe.

We had our tea in the BonBon room this time...a very beautiful room!

I am sorry that my pictures didn't turn out well this time. Here is the only OK photo I got of Ann. Elizabeth came by with a tiny cake for her . She is a sweetheart.

This is our tea time treat plate. Everything was just delicious. The soup was a white cheddar with broccoli and it was heavenly. Sadly, the photo of the dessert plate was a big blur. Happy Birthday Ann and thanks for celebrating with tea.

Tea Time Thursday #79

 Happy Tea Time Thursday. It's been a busy day and here it is almost dinner time and I am just getting to my blog post! I was with my dad a good part of the day, stopped to see Jimmy and Otto, did a few errands and here it is almost 5PM. Although I adore pink, I just can't pass up a blue Forget-Me-Not teacup!

Jimmy found these two gems recently at as estate sale. I purchased the little crocheted pillow from a lovely lady who had just the best sewing items, buttons, lace and ephemera. She was a delight to visit with and I was thrilled with her offerings.

The first cup is just beautiful! I love the soft blue handle and the delicate little clusters of Forget-Me-Nots!

This cup is a Crown Staffordshire fine bone china teacup and it is Made in England.

The next cup and saucer is really quite pretty too. The colors are really bright and I like the flower print. A nice cup and saucer for a collection.

This one is called "Forget-Me_not" by Royal Standard. It is also bone china and was made in England too.

I am currently very busy finishing up my Tea Time booth for the Doll Fair in Vermont on July 1st. I will have to ship it east in a few days. It has been a fun project putting together a tea shoppe for the fair. Jimmy and I are going back to New England to attend another Tasha Tudor event. She would have been 100 years old this August, so it's a special year to remember her. I will post pictures later this summer as I don't want to spoil the surprise of it all now.

Tasha Tudor LOVED Forget-me -not flowers. I have always loved this photo of her walking in the  field of tiny blue flowers. Her gardeners were not always thrilled with them and would take them out! I love them and don't really care where they pop up.

Teacup Thursday #73

A busy day spent taking my dad to the doctor and spending time with him. Came home, packed up my Etsy orders and mailed them off and then decided to weed my neglected front flower bed. I worked until dark and then enjoyed a nice hot bath in my wonderful Jacuzzi bathtub. I treated myself to a bath bomb that my SIL Eric had given to me...oh, rose petals and just a lovely soft pink color. It smelled heavenly. Anyway, that made me think of Eric and his family and that led me to his mom Susan. We have been emailing and as I said before, we just clicked. She lives in Anchorage, Alaska and so I am featuring a little demitasse cup and saucer I picked up this spring and a lovely plate. The state flower of Alaska is the forget-me-not, so this is for you Susan!

Both the plate and the cup and saucer are Haviland and I think they were hand painted but I cannot find a signature on either piece.

When I was in high school, our family went to visit my aunt and uncle who lived in Ketchikan, Alaska. It was so beautiful. It was summer so it was very much like Oregon. Jim has always wanted to visit Alaska! Maybe someday we will go on a road trip to visit Susan. Here's a picture of this lovely lady....Susan, I "borrowed" it from your Facebook page-great picture!

I found this little embroidery piece with the pattern on the cute blog today...would be a fun little project.

The days have been so warm here in Oregon and I am ready for fall! It did cool a bit today and the leaves are gently turning color. Maybe fall will sneak in next week!

Teacup Thursday #55~Forget-Me-Not

I did a wee bit of gardening today after  I spent some time with my dad. I noticed lots of my Forget-Me-Not sweet little blue flowers were everywhere. Tasha Tudor loved these little gems and when she passed away, I spread tons of seeds in my flower beds. They have been coming up every year and they make me happy.

So, I thought it would be a great week to feature my Royal Albert Forget-Me-Not teacup for Miss Spenser's Teacup Thursday. I really like the shape of the cup and of course, the colors are lovely.

When I was outside today, I snapped a couple pictures from my garden to share with my blog friends.

Look who's peeking at the beautiful teacup! It's a corgi...a Tasha Tudor corgi. Perfect color too. The corgi was produced for one of Tasha's companies  in the past. He's quite charming and well made. It's marked Tasha Tudor on the bottom.

I am hoping that the weather will cooperate and warm up next week so I can start planting my flowers. I always make myself wait until May and I'm ready to go. Happy planting and think flowers.
