Sunday

Happy Sunday. I hope you had a good day! It was mild and sunny and a pleasant. Our daughter Angie brought us donuts and we had coffee outside in the sun. We stayed 6 ft away but it was such a delight. Otto was with his dad. I think soon we can have him over and just keep our distance but that will be hard.
It's a new week and so we shall see what that brings our way. 

Sunshine, Otto and Imagination Station!

Oh the sun FINALLY came out today! We have been hoping to take Otto to the park on our babysitting day for weeks. We have a great park in Troutdale for kids by the local high school. It was the target of arsons about a year ago which is so sad. The city has plans to rebuild the part that was destroyed. There is still a lot left to be enjoyed.

Otto was excited when Grandma Linda showed up in the morning. Of course we had to play in his room. He has such an imagination of his own that makes me laugh. This is his boat he made out of these little snap together blocks.

He really gets into thing. He was into his Hot Wheels cars today. He wanted me to read the bottom of each car and we learned that some were made in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia! Who knew?

About 11:30 Papa Jimmy came over to take us to the park It was 80 degrees today! Don't you love his new shirt...Little Monster! Not Grandma's little boy.

He was so happy to be outside! He has a new haircut and is ready for summer.

He was catching his breath in the shade here. He found a few kids that he was having fun. I am careful about taking other children's pictures as some parents don't like to post pictures on the internet.

Papa Jimmy and his little man Otto...they love each other!

Otto wanted to jump down and then run run run out into the soccer field. He has grown a lot since last year and can do more on his own.

Yep it was a fun day at the park. He was practicing his rock climbing skills. He would climb up but then want Papa to help him get back down. That's what Papa's are for...right?

Otto was so tired when we left, he just fell on the grown and had had it! Too much fun for an almost 4 year old! It was sure a fun day at the park.

When I went in to get a shower, I saw this happy little chick! Angie gave it to me and it is so her.
Have to include this with the collection.

How could I forget to feature this happy felted chick made by my dearest friend LaVonne! It is one of my favorites. It hangs on the Easter tree.

SUNSHINE and Chicks

 I woke up this morning to SUNSHINE! In fact, the sun actually was shining in my eyes and woke me up! Glorious sunshine announcing SPRING and it's beautiful flowers and trees budding and everything coming back to life! Who knows how long we will get to enjoy this weather but who cares! Enjoy it now and get outside, heh? It's supposed to be 73.

So I decided to roam around my little house this morning and find all the various chicks hiding here and there! Easter will soon be over and I can now take better pix so I am trying out the new camera! Of course, I haven't figured out how it all works, but it is an improvement! At least I can edit my photos again, so that really helps.

I received a package yesterday from a dear Tasha friend in way far away in Virginia...my friend Mary.
She has fabulous collections of EVERYTHING for the holidays. She sent me this adorable Dept 56 chick! It has a finish on it like the Snow Babies and it's little head is a bobble head. SO CUTE! Thank you Mary.

Here's a few chicks that live in the front room. They just all make me smile, especially on a sunny day!
The are made of different materials, paper, cardboard, wood, and metal.....ready to make you smile too!

I don't have too many things in my tiny kitchen but I do like this little candle chick. Of course, I could never burn it!

I have a shelf of demitasse cup and saucers on the wall and this little plastic chick may have just popped out of that little egg!

I adore vintage postcards...Mary sent this one along with the  chick. The little chickie tag was on a basket that I will share in another post. It's pretty charming with it's fluffy tail!

A solar dancing chick? Oh my. My friend Nancy is like a kid with these things.She finds them at the $ store and gives them to me all the time. This on is really cute.

A Lovely Afternoon in Washington!

Jim and I are having such a nice trip! The weather has been perfect and it's great to be outside in such a beautiful place...we love Poulsbo.

I was invited to spend the afternoon at Angie's home today for tea and friendship! Just one more great thing about our Tasha Tudor group...friendship! Had so much fun with Clarice, her mom Linda, Auberne' and Chloe, and John and Elizabeth. Jim dropped me off and then came back to pick me up and he had a bit of time to visit with Angie and Linda for awhile. He did get to meet Clarice and her girls earlier too, so now he knows who I'm always talking about.

I am so blessed to have such sweet and giving friends who welcome me into their homes and fill me with yummy food! The company is more than words can express.

I did miss my dear friend LaVonne from Montana...she's with me so often when we get together, it was sad she wasn't with us today. We all missed her company and her laughter. I'm hoping she'll come out again this fall and we can have some more laughs!

You can see by these pictures that Jim is having lots of fun in the sun! He just loves to be outside after all those years being stuck in the back of a pharmacy. Ahhhh...retired life is good!

The town of Pouslbo is really a wonderful little town. Tomorrow we are heading up to Port Gamble....I hear there's a quilt shoppe there!

MORNING SUNSHINE

The sunrise was just amazing this morning and the sun is out! So many of my friends across the US are stuck inside with snow and freezing rain.I'm hoping to work outside a bit today and maybe finish my Valentines for my Tasha Tudor exchange.

Jim is struggling with a nasty head cold. I hope he stays in bed and gets well today.
