Dolly Thursday and Thursday Finds

It's Dolly Thursday on my Tasha Tudor group again, so I wanted to share this sweet little miss. She is a reproduction doll, but I think she is so beautiful. Her face is darling. She was left in a back room at an estate sale last fall and I just couldn't leave her there, so she came home with me. She was also 1/2 price.

Her dress is sweet and she even came with her little locket. I haven't given her a name yet. She is holding a few friends for the season.

I stopped at an antique store on the way home from the beach last week. I found a few fun things for Easter gifts and a few goodies for me. I love tin dishes and containers. I found this sweet little sugar canister in the basement.

I collect plastic rattles and Easter animals, so this duck will be added to the gang. I think he was quite pleased to join the group.

I always look for vintage books from the late 1800's and early 1900's. This one just has the perfect look.

Someone started to do the embroidery work on this fun little panel and never finish. I think it will make a darling little fun pillow once I get it completed.

Don't you love the ducky?

This is where I found the cute little Beatrix Potter trio that I shared on Tuesday. I just love anything Peter Rabbit.

I think we are actually going to have a sunny day tomorrow! I am excited to see the sun. What a wet and dreary spring we have had.
I was supposed to join in the Tea Cup Exchange reveal today, however, my exchange partner is having a hard time and was delayed in getting my package out. That's just fine, as I understand. It will be fun to share it when it does arrive.

Tea Time Tuesday #114

Happy Tea Time Tuesday! I get to share one of the teacups I got at the estate sale this past weekend. I absolutely love it. It's just different than most of my cup and saucers and I think it's really quite spring like.

It is a Royal Winton, made in England. It is very much like the chintz designs that this company made. It even has the little gold band on the inside of the cup.

It has been wet and chilly here in Oregon. I took a break this afternoon and had a nice cup of tea....a cranberry spiced white tea. It's a delicate yet yummy tea. I took a few minutes to glance at one of my Tasha Tudor books...First Poems of Childhood. It's a sweet book.

Estate Sale Worker!

Today all I did was relax! I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday working an estate sale with one of my friends Sandra. About a year ago, she asked me if I would help her when she had an estate sale for her friend. It was something on my bucket list, so I agreed. It was fun to see how these sales happen. Wow, it is a great deal of work. There's a lot of set up time, pricing, cleaning, organizing and running the show! Jimmy and I go to so many sales and it was fun to work one.

So many lovely teacups! Yes, I did get to choose a couple that I will share later. I wanted to bring them all home, but....

Lots of fun Bauer and similar items. Maybe you will see something from this table later too!

This fishbowl was just amazing. I don't like to take care of fish, but I was tempted. Sooo pretty.

A view of the living room before the sale. I liked the umbrella holder and it sold quickly. The lamps were good sellers too. The carved chair was a show stopper, but it was pricey, so it did not sell.

Vintage clothes are really popular here in the Portland area. We had several dealers in early on the first day.

Lots of charming aprons and they were also good sellers. I love old aprons.

Most of the hats sold early too.

Bedding with hand embroidered pillowcases done so nicely.

Pretty things for the dresser from days gone by.

Vintage phones sell very well too....especially rotary phones. That's really funny to me.

These two mid century lamps were also show stoppers. They are made of crushed glass in resin. They are really heavy and look great when you light them up.

This was only half of the sale. The basement items will be offered in June, so I will help Sandra again. The people you meet at these sales are really fun. They love to chat about what they collect and get so excited when they find goodies. It's really interesting to watch people as they shop. We also had people who were buying things to help out friends. I loved it. I had a great time even though I really am tired today! I'm thankful I didn't have anywhere to go today.

Tuesday Treasures

I managed to delete this post from Tuesday this evening, so I will try to recreate it. It's just been one of those days...ugh. I have lost all my comments on this one now too. Well...that's the way it goes. I just love all the items, so will just put the post back up the best I can.

We had a fun time shopping this past weekend!  I love it when we get a couple of good estate sales! You can see it's a good grouping of GOODIES for my Etsy shoppe.

I have been selling older patterns lately and these are just charming. I especially like the little bonnet pattern.

The estate sale ladies were going crazy over this sweet child's apron...lovingly crocheted by someone.
It is really darling.

Who could resist this handmade wonderful stuffed elephant? He is really so well made and just fun. I love homemade toys from the past. I forgot to take a photo of the little plastic silverware set in the box. It is really neat.

This is one of the hand stitched butterfly blocks on a row from a quilt. It was never finished and this was all that was at the sale when we got there. I had to rescue it. It could be taken apart and repurposed.

I fell for this sweet little teapot. It has a not on the bottom stating that it was a gift from an aunt at Christmas long ago. So sweet. You can see a set of hand embroidered tea towels and a great pansy towel. The teapot is resting on a cute vintage bunny piece. It is open on one end so I think it may have been a bassinet cover for a baby. It's such a darling vintage print.

I also picked up two church lady aprons that I love made of fantastic vintage fabric. I've been on the hunt for these.

And now for my favorite find of the weekend. These are Lefton Miss Dainty wall planters. They are in mint condition and aren't they just the cutest?! I wish I decorated with this style as I would really keep them for myself. I love them.

So, I think I covered everything. I have never deleted a post before. I am not happy with myself.
