I Won a Lovely Give Away!

A few weeks ago, I entered a give away on a friend's blog and I won! I know my blogger friend as Lady Jane, but her real name is Sharon. She is a very creative person and right now, I'm enjoying her adventure with her quilt blocks! I didn't know she made such beautiful cards...but she sure does!
She is also into miniatures, so I enjoy both of her blogs. You can find Lady Jane at Our Cozy Abode and For the Love of Minis, so pop on over and see what Lady Jane is up to!

She made a box for me to keep the cards in, but I had to put it together. Lady Jane, I just used double sided tape to make life easier!

She sent 12 cards, three of 4 different designs. This type is amazing with all kinds of fun additions! Only special friends will get these!

I think this is my favorite card! I just love that song and used to sing it to my girls when they were little. Now I can sing it to my grandson.

So Lady Jane, a big thank you for my treats and for all the work you put into these beautiful cards. I am blessed to have been the winner. Thanks so much and happy crafting.
This is my first blog post on my new laptop. I'm getting it figured out...slowly.

Tea Time Thursday #65~ ❤Sharing Valentine Exchanges❤

Oh, how I love Valentine card exchanges! Before the month slips away, I want to share some more fun that I had this year with my Tasha Tudor Take Peace group and my Afternoon Tea Across America (ATAA) group. I always have to wait to do these posts as I don't like to give away my surprises before the holiday. The excitement begins with a trip (or two) to the craft store to gather up paper and a variety of goodies for the occasion.

This is my offering for ATAA...I cut out the teapots, glued paper heart doilies onto the card and then deocrated the post with bits and pieces. This year we were to enclose a sample of tea and a favorite recipe. I sent a recipe for Marmalade Muffins that was from a Crabtree and Evelyn cookbook that I love.

My Tasha Tudor exchange was a little bit different. We send a tiny Valentine card from our dolls to the other dolls. I like to include tiny gifts for the dolls too.  It's fun to send tea and little candies too.

I had this glass mailbox that I have had for years. I thought it would be fun to put my incoming Valentines in it, as I like to open my cards on Valentine's Day.

Lots of cards and little fun packages from some special friends.

Here is a look at my cards from ATAA! So fun. I love all the handmade cards. Very pretty. I will probably put them into an album.

Look at all the sweet Tasha Tudor cards from the exchange!

I have shared the fun I have with my friend Lynda and the friendship ball. I have been hoping to find another one to have fun with LaVonne. I found one a few weeks ago...perfect timing!

I filled the ball with tiny gifts for Miss Annabelle. We will send it back and forth now...yes!

My dear friend LaVonne never forgets me! Lots of good things. She even found me dolly Valentines!

The little red shawl was for Hitty! It is tiny and well made. I had to try it on and it fit perfectly.
Hitty was very happy with her gift!

Annabelle asked me t pst some pictures . She has her table all set for Valentines! Tea time!

Annabelle wanted to use her new red teaset. I think it's a lovely set indeed!

This is her other table, set for tea also.

Annabelle's dessert table.

Annabelle found this sweet little blanket box. I love it and she put it to good use!

Hope you enjoyed my little review of Valentine's! Happy Tea Time Thursday. I am off with a friend for the weekend up in the Seattle area.

Scrapbooking My ATAA Card Exchanges

Oh what a dreary, rainy day here in the Pacific Northwest! My flower beds are flooded again. I just can't plant anything for awhile yet as this weather usually finds us in March! So, I decided to make a cup of tea and finish my St. Pat's scrapbook. You may remember that I got some very nice scrapbooks on clearance in January. I love keeping scrapbooks for my card exchanges. I have participated in three of them now with my wonderful tea group-ATAA- Afternoon Tea Across America.

The Victorians loved scrapbooking. Woman and children kept them and enjoyed saving all kinds of paper goodies. I have never been lucky enough to find a vintage one that I could afford, but I have purchased lots of ephemera from them at various sales over my many years of collecting. I just love to keep paper things and find it very fun to make simple pages to keep my cards and other paper goodies.

I chose this book for my St Pat's cards. I may use it for my spring ATAA card exchanges coming up.
Enjoy my pages and a little look at the cards and sweet tuck ins I received.

These are the card that I made for the St Patrick's card exchange this year. I like to make my cards when I have time or get inspired!

I didn't share my Valentine scrapbook earlier, so here it is! Being a quilter, I love the patchwork look of this album. I was able to slip one of my card on the front of this sweet book. Perfect!

One of the  pages had an envelop and worked just great for the recipes I received. I can easily take them out when I want to use them.

This is the beautiful title page of our ATAA page on Facebook. It belongs to our moderator, LaDonna Lateadah, who takes just lovely pictures, so I want to give her the credit! If you'd like to join our group, please contact LaDonna and she will sign you up.

LaDonna's beautiful photo!
A very big thank you to all who joined our last two exchanges! It really is so much fun. Our next one is for Easter. In an exchange, you send a card, a tea bag and some little flat tuck ins. I have all my treats for the Easter exchange, so I need to get them ready to mail.  We will be doing a very interesting and more challenging one in May....Queen Victoria Day! I have a few ideas, but haven't quite finished up on that one.

I do believe I see a bit of sunshine!!!

Tea Time Thursday # 33 Valentine Cards

When I was a little school girl, many years ago, I always bought the Valentine booklets that you had to cut and paste....even the envelopes. I guess I haven't changed too much as I love to participate in various Valentine card exchanges. This year I joined two exchanges. Here's a look at one of this year's project.

I cut out large tea cups from fun scrapbook papers and added some lace doilies and other little embellishments. I kept them kind of simple this year, but liked the way they turned out. Of course, I had to include a Valentine tea bag!

As this is Tea Time Thursday, I thought it would be fun to post some vintage Valentine cards that have a tea time theme. Victorian Valentines are my favorite, but I do love the mid century cards. Enjoy.

Can you believe that tomorrow is Valentine's Day? I have saved all my Valentine's from my Tasha Tudor group and my Afternoon Tea Across America for February 14th! I will have lots of cards to open. I will need a cup of tea or two!
