Weekly Change Up!

Beginning this week, I will be changing up my feature days to go along with my Tasha Tudor group...TAKE PEACE. It will allow me to post on my blog and on Take Peace with more ease.
I will be switching my Tuesday with Thursday. So today will be Tea Time Tuesday and my sharing of my finds will now be Thursday Treasures.

I was delighted to read this wonderful article in the latest issue of my favorite tea magazine~
TEA TIME.  This article was written by Betty Terry and is called A Tempest in a Tea Spout.
I have collected these pretty little strainers for years. They are called tea-strainer baskets. They have a wire that fits into the spout of the teapot. The tea leaves from loose tea will be caught in the baskets when the tea is poured into the tea cup.

I always thought that these tea accoutrements were English, however, after reading this article, I discovered that the English never used this type of tea strainer.

They were made and used during the Victorian and Edwardian time in America, Russia, France, Spain, Austria and Germany.

Mine are made of sterling silver and silverplate. I do have one made of aluminum! It's very humble.
I hope you enjoyed this little bit of tea time information.

Linking up with Bernideen at her blog party this week.

Dear Linda:
First of all thank you for the sweet card! I was thrilled to receive my first personal mail and you know there isn't all that much personal mail anymore. I think your silver strainers are darling. I have a variety too but only one hanging one and it is not vintage. I love them all and so happy that you shared your collection!
