Thinking About Our Fun Weekend

What a glorious fall weekend here in the Pacific Northwest! Jimmy and I worked hard last week on Etsy, the house, his upcoming Expo show, and getting the yard ready for winter. We decided  to take advantage of the great weather and get out in the country and just play a little! Our first stop was at The Wade Creek House. Becky has done such a good job of turning this little house into a darling antique shop and a wonderful place to learn a new craft. Check out her blog. I love the chicken coop and always have to visit the girls....well, I think there's a rooster there too.

Farm items around the property just give it a charming look. They expanded the chicken coop and  moved it this year. Don't you love the old bed inside?

Here's another view of the coop with the garden flowers. I love it.

Not sure this pumpkin is going to make it for Halloween or even Thanksgiving!

This is the front on the house that has most of the goodies for sale. They have added another building with treasures and a room for the crafting classes. You can see what goes on there if you pop on her blog.

This is the clever handle on the rail going into one of the rooms. Neat idea, huh?

I love plaid and think these would be fun for Christmas time. Oh, so tempting....I did pick up a few goodies that I will share when you continue to read this post.

We didn't want to go back home, so we headed over to Monticello Antique Mall in Portland. It is such an nicely done mall and always a treat to visit. One of the things I like is the great job the vendors do at this mall. It was all decked out for the fall too.

This is a shot overlooking the mall from the register and check out area. It really is good sized mall.

This is for Gina...this is one of our favorite mall spaces and we always have to spend time here. I miss you Gina.

My favorite vendor space belongs to Altea Breese. She always is decked out for the holidays so I guess that's one reason I like her booth.

I fell in love with this pumpkin made from an old quilt. I wish I would have purchased it...she had some darling white ones too that you can see in the photos.

The first time I met Aleta was at a doll show. She had a couple of these bunnies there and I want one! It's on my wish list. I was happy to see this one appear as I was hoping she still had some for sale. Lots of attention to detail with the clothing and so well made. Yes, I want!

So, I did but some goodies to take home. I was wanting a little Halloween tree. I found this one at the Wade Creek House and it is perfect!

Some more goodies I got from both fun visits. The fabric candy corn are soooo cute! Great for my collection. I love the ribbon that Aleta always has for sale. I think I have it in every color. Also found some little packaged goodies~most ended up on my tree.

Jim also took me to a fantastic Estate sale. He loves to find wooden items for his booth and he really hit the jackpot on some prims. We are keeping a few things, but most will be for resale. He cleans his wood so he has lots of work ahead before that October Expo show.

Just a few pix of the goodies. We will probably keep the dough bowl as it has been on our "I would love to have" list for quite some time.

On Sunday afternoon, we took another country drive and went to the monthly Polk County Flea Market. Always a fun place with lots of smalls for Etsy. We ran into our friends, Sandra and Ricky! We haven't seen them all summer so had to get caught up. Fun.

On the way home, we drove to our favorite fruit and veggie stand to say hello to Bernie and Pat. Oh, they were so busy, but had time to chat. They are just the nicest people and we love seeing them and supporting them. Such great prices. Of course, I was looking for the apples, but I think we bought about everything they had to offer, except the HOT PEPPERS. I'm going to make another big pot of veggie soup today with the goodies.

We sure had a great weekend! Those happy thoughts will linger for a long time. I hope you are enjoying your fall where ever you live.

This is my idea of a fun day. I love it when there are vintage decorations and homemade things mixed in with the antiques. Also - the farmers stand is awesome!
