Duane is making good progress on the cottage...soon to be studio! I have been snapping pictures of his progress along the way, so this may be boring to most of you, but I wanted to have something on my blog so I could enjoy the studio shaping up! I really have learned a lot about what's behind the walls in our homes. I really had NO idea.
Ready for insulation!
Great ceiling lighting. I knew I wanted and needed good lighting and he found this great set of ceiling lights on sale!
Insulation is almost up!
Ceiling is in and wires for my stereo are in! You can get a idea about the lights here.
Dry wall going up around the room.
All mudded!
It gets quite warm in the cottage, so Duane suggested we put in an AC! Great idea!!! We don't have AC in our house, so I may have to move into the cottage in the summer...lol!
Duane was teasing me to death about my bright yellow paint choice...I'm going to decorate it all in Mary Engelbreit things and mix in my mid century toys and fun items...all BRIGHT colors! I went down to look at it and found the smiley face painted on the floor! Ya, it did make me smile.
It was hard to get a picture of the true yellow, but I think you can get an idea. I love it.
This photo is a bit dark.
My ceiling fan is back up and working. You can see one of the speakers behind the fan. There's two built in.
Jimmy and I picked out the Pergo flooring and Duane helped us pick out the crown molding and other molding for the window and flooring. He hopes to be back on Wednesday to install the flooring. It's getting close! My work will soon begin. We had to rent another storage unit when we moved everything out for Duane to work. I have to decide on my fixtures ( I do have a few) and I think Duane is going to build me some when I figure out what I want. Then the sorting, organizing and getting rid of will begin. I am hoping to get a lot done before our grandbaby arrives as I know I will be needed!
Thank you Jim for this room and for the the gift of a studio. I feel like it's still a dream. A real place to sew after almost 37 years in our little home.
