My FANTASTIC Spoolie Easter Exchange!

I had time this morning to open the most wonderful package sent to me by Erica of Golden Egg Vintage. She and I were partnered up for the spoolie Easter exchange where we were challenged to make a cute Easter creation using a wooden spool! Erica is amazing and so creative. Look at this adorable spoolie she made for me!

Lots of detail and bright colors. Love the little chick and bird ! It just make me smile.

The box was filled with LOTS of goodies and I am so excited about my box of goodies. Erica and I had never even chatted before this exchange and I just love her! She is so full of life and was easy to get to know, easy to exchange fun emails. Look at this creation! It is one of my favorite treats, as I love egg boxes. She decorated this one and it is so pretty and will live in my tea room. My Tasha Tudor group had a Chickahominy exchange this spring. Chickahominy was the name of her favorite rooster, so I was just thrilled to see a rooster decorating this pretty egg!

The box alone is just wonderful but when I opened it, I found a darling rabbit sitting on a vintage block...note the R for Rabbit! How clever is that? Can you see the Mary Englebriet paper dolls in the background? CUTE.

This little rabbit is sitting in a basket with other little treats all wrapped up in cellophane, so it's a little blurry. So sweet....

Something was wrapped up in a lovely vintage handy with lilly of the valley flowers on it. It's really soft and silky. I wondered what could be inside of this surprise? Another little basket with more sweet spring time items.

There was a large package wrapped in blue tissue with charming little wooden ornaments tied on it.
I was just happy happy happy and amazed at Erica's generousity.

We had discovered that we both like Frozen Charlottes and look what she gave me!

A blue basket was inside the tissue and it was filled with lots of Easter treats! Candy, napkins, tags, vintage flowers, buttons, and the cutest matchbox covered with sweet paper and inside Erica had tucked little sticker in for me! LOVE. She even gave me tea. I'm telling you, she has such a gift for giving and learning what her exchange friend would really enjoy. Not everyone can do that. She took the time to learn what I liked and then put together just the PERFECT gift for Linda Lou!!!!

What would Easter be without a vintage bunny book to enjoy?
I'm sure I missed sharing some other items with you, but I am overwhelmed!  I tried to put everything together to give you a sense of  the collection!  THANK YOU SO MUCH ERICA! You certainly spoiled me rotten!

Erica did a lovely blog post on her blog about the goodies I sent her. She is a mid century fan, like my daughters,  so it was quite fun for me to send her treats too. Here is a picture of the spoolie I made for her! It was so much fun and this was one of the best exchanges I have ever participated in!

Pop over and visit Erica. She has a fun blog and has a fun Market Monday thing going.

Teacup Thursday #36~Birthday TIme

Just got home from meeting friends for lunch for my birthday! What a surprise. I knew my quilting partner was treating me, but had no idea two of my other friends from Maupin, my "Maupin Sisters" as they refer to themselves, were meeting me. I was waiting for Peggy to park her car and I heard someone say, hi Linda. It was Gloria. She said she was on her way home from the beach and and stopped by. I invited her to join us and they were all cool as a cucumber...then my other friend Kathy appeared, they piled up presents on the table and started laughing! I was so so so surprised, I couldn't believe it. Such a fun time at the Troutdale General Store!

So, here it is almost 5 PM PST and I'm just now posting my entry for Miss Spenser's Teacup Thursday.
This is one of my favorite  cup and saucers. I got it a few years ago in the town I was born in....Yakima, Washington! Seems like a good day to post this special teacup. It's Haviland and so dainty. I love it.

You know I am drawn to anything with holly, so don't you think this is perfect for me? So pretty. I wonder if there was an entire set of this pattern or just a teacup.I forgot to take out the little battery operated candle sitting inside, so that's what you can see in this photo.

So Happy Teacup Thursday. I think I'll have birthday cake and a cup of tea when I get back home from dinner tonight. Burrrrrr-it's clear and cold outside. The moon is almost full too. A big thank you to all who made my birthday very special this year! Blessings to you all my dear friends. My heart is overflowing tonight.

Tasha Tudor Group Fall Exchange

My Tasha Tudor Take Peace group does a few gift exchanges through out the year. We had been discussing mice and bunnies in September, so we decided to have a fall exchange and suggested that we include a little mouse or bunny. Many of us like to make things, so it's nice if you can send something handmade. I think we had 14 people participate this time and it was really fun. When LaVonne was out visiting me, we made little wool cut mice using her beautiful yarn from her sheep in Montana. We really had a ball making these. She was so patient with me-she's a great craft teacher. She works as an artist in residence back home with children, so I guess I she could handle me! I couldn't post pictures of the little darlings before as I didn't want to spoil the surprise for anyone!
Here's the photo of our mice.Mine is the cubby one on the right...of course!

I spent my package to Sandra in France. Here's a picture of my package just before it was sent so far away! We sure know how to have celebrate.

Yesterday, the mailman brought me a package from Terri who lives in New York. I saved it until this morning so Jim could see me open it while we were having our coffee.

This is what I found when I opened it up! What a fall greeting for me! I was so excited!!!!

I spread everything out on the floor so I could get a good picture of all the treats. She even included a box of Earl Grey tea which I love.

I love this little fall bunny. She might have to live in my tea room with all my dolls. I think she'd be happy there!

Terri made this wool pin with a cool button which looks vintage. What a fun project, and it will look really great on my coat.

Look at this happy little ceramic squirrel candle holder and tea light. Just makes you feel like fall.

I hung the scarecrow on my chair...he can welcome my guests when they come in.

So, a big heartfelt thank you to Terri. She's a new member on our group and I think she qualifies as a Tashette now.

If any of your would like to join our Take Peace group, you can find us at TakePeace@yahoogroups.com. It's a happy place to be, we have lots of fun and I've made some wonderful friends. We will be doing an ornament exchange for St. Nickolas Day along with a virtual tea.
